Artificial Intelligence or AI for short, has become more of a buzz word nowadays. It’s not often that you see AI at work in a very blunt way. It’s usually tucked away as the engine that powers a tech product or an app feature.
There’s a website named This Person Does Not Exist that will generate a person’s face. It will generate a new face every time you visit the site or if you refresh the page. What’s creepy about that? The person that is generated does not exist! The AI algorithm called Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) uses two algorithm’s to generate a realistic looking face. One algorithm creates a face while the other algorithm decides if it’s real or fake. What you ultimately see on the screen is a face that the AI decided that it looked real.
It’s fascinating to see how real these faces turn out and really creepy to know that these people are computer generated and don’t actually exist.
