BlitzWolf BW-BR1 Bluetooth Receiver Review

3 min read

Today we take a look at a Bluetooth receiver by BlitzWolf that aim’s at solving your aux cord issues.

BlitzWolf BW-BR1 is a bluetooth receiver that replaces your aux cord. The unit is compact and lightweight. It comes with a 3.5mm adapter, 3.5mm cord, and a micro USB to USB a charging cable. The idea is to connect the receiver to your car stereo and then pair the device via Bluetooth to your phone. Once paired, you could stream your music from your phone wireless. The unit could also be used to convert your non-bluetooth headphones into a wireless Bluetooth headset.

The setup process was quick and easy. The device paired quickly to my phone although I had to charge the device for a few minutes before it would turn on. I tested the unit in my car to listen to how well it sounded and if the stream was seamless without sound artifacts. I was impressed by how well the unit was able to transmit music from my phone to my car stereo. I could not tell the difference between having my phone hard wired to my stereo and using the Bluetooth receiver.

When testing the phone call handsfree feature I ran into a connection issue. The call became intermittent to the point where I couldn’t hear my wife and my wife couldn’t hear me. I will have to investigate further to see if the reason could be that the unit was not fully charged or if my phone had a connection issue. I suspect that the units low battery had something to do with the issue.

Overall I think this device is a definite buy. It is reasonably priced at $ 19.99 on Amazon.
