I’ve been involved with music and media for a number of years and building a site that centralizes my work with an organized method became necessary as I have become involved with multiple projects.
My first passion is Dj’ing. I started back in 92′ with some busted turntables and vinyl that I bought at the Flea Market. DJ’ing started as a hobby and quickly became a big part of my life. The magic of entertaining an audience became the driving motivation to continue my journey as a DJ till this day. Check out some of my mixes at DJ Mixes.
Audio production came naturally after almost two decades of DJ’ing. In June 2008 we released our first mixtape with my right hand man, Don Prahfit titled ‘The Iksperiment’. With the release of the mixtape we also established our new record label, ‘Specialist Music Group’. Under our new record label we have released several projects since June 2008 and also branched into online video broadcasting and online radio broadcasting. Head over to our SMG site for our latest collective work.
Online video broadcast was something that we decided to get into with the goal of building a platform for ourselves as well as our community. Promoting music and talent has evolved and continues to evolve. Simply put, the old methods don’t work as well as it used to. Online broadcasting was a way to connect with our audience and build a community around what we do. As a result I took part in producing shows like The Lions Den and the Sundaze Mixshow. After learning the in’s and out’s of video broadcasting I decided to broadcast live from a nightclub party called Return Of The Boom Zap. I also joined forces with the folks at Ego Crushen Sessions where I came in to help with the video and audio quality and overall behind the scenes tech work.
Online radio broadcast was another area where we felt that our community needed an outlet. The thought was that it wasn’t enough for a DJ to post a mix on a website and wait for it to be discovered. We live in an area where we have some of the worlds best DJ’s. We felt there was a need to have an online radio station that would play DJ mixes to help get the content and talent discovered by an audience that spans world wide. That need was the birth of SMG Radio. The idea doesn’t stop at DJ’s, we also include all around great music from both local and established artist. The main goal is to expose our audience to great music and great talent.
I can go on and on with what I am involved in but as I mentioned above, I’d rather let my work speak for itself. So cruise over to my blog for updates on what I’ve done and what’s next!
