Need a hand?
Email support@projectramos.com. Include the app version, device and operating-system version, what you expected, and what happened. Getting started
- Back up your collection and test with a few disposable copies.
- Choose your music folder, then separate destinations for Keep, Favorite, and Top Picks.
- Play a track and click or tap the waveform to jump to another section.
- Favorite copies the track and leaves its original. Keep moves it. Top Pick moves it and adds four fire emojis to the start of MP3 Comments.
Free Stream Deck plugin
The Music Culler companion plugin is free. It requires the Music Culler Mac app, Elgato Stream Deck software on that Mac, and Stream Deck hardware or Stream Deck Mobile. It does not control the standalone Music Culler iPhone/iPad app.
Download Music Culler Stream Deck plugin 1.6.109 (ZIP). The ZIP includes the installer and a setup guide.
- Download and extract the ZIP.
- Double-click com.adrianramos.musicculler.streamDeckPlugin and accept Stream Deck’s install or update prompt.
- Fully quit and reopen Elgato Stream Deck after updating.
- Open Music Culler on the same Mac and choose your music folder. Keep both apps running.
- Find Music Culler in Stream Deck’s actions list and drag actions onto keys or compatible dials. Configure strip positions and modes in the selected action’s settings.
No pairing code or router port forwarding is required. The App Store and TestFlight versions use a local-only connection on the Mac.
Using Stream Deck Mobile
Connect Stream Deck Mobile to Elgato Stream Deck on your Mac. The Music Culler plugin then controls the Mac app. The Music Culler iPhone/iPad app is a separate, standalone player.
If the buttons do not update
- Confirm Music Culler is open and only one copy is running.
- Use plugin 1.6.109 or newer. Version 1.6.108 does not support the App Store/TestFlight connection.
- Fully quit and restart Stream Deck after installing the update. Keep your existing profiles; you do not need to delete your layout to troubleshoot the connection.
- Use the plugin’s Help option for action-specific guidance.
File safety: Favorite copies; Keep and Top Pick move. Trash moves the current track. Holding Trash can start Empty Trash, which permanently deletes recorded items and cannot be undone. Test with disposable copies and keep backups.
Trash, Undo, and Empty
Undo restores supported moves in reverse order. Empty permanently deletes Music Culler’s recorded Trash items after confirmation; Undo cannot recover an emptied file. The App Store Mac app and the iPhone/iPad app use a hidden .Music Culler Trash folder in the selected music location. The directly installed Mac version uses system Trash where supported, with the managed folder as a fallback on volumes such as NAS shares. Do not remove this folder manually while you still need Undo.
Supported audio
MP3, WAV, AIFF/AIF/AIFC, AAC, and M4A playback depends on the audio encoding supported by your device. MP3 tags are editable; metadata in other formats is read-only. Protected Apple Music subscription downloads are not supported. Music Culler does not include music or a streaming subscription.
NAS and shared folders
On iPhone/iPad, connect in Files → Browse → Connect to Server, then select the folder in Music Culler. On Mac, connect through Finder first. The connection must be available and you need write permission for source and destination folders. If access expires, reconnect and select the folders again.
If a track will not play
Try opening it in another player and copying it in Finder or Files. If the operating system cannot copy or rename it either, check server permissions, connectivity, and filename compatibility. The app cannot repair an inaccessible file. Back up before making server-side changes. Use Skip to continue; do not Trash a wanted track simply to dismiss an error.
Scans and automatic actions
Rescan refreshes the library. Cancel stops a scan. Clear Library unloads it without deleting music. Auto-trash is optional and off by default; read the in-app explanation before enabling it.
Mac and mobile
A universal purchase does not synchronize your selected folders, settings, or Undo history. The Stream Deck plugin controls the Mac app, not the standalone iPhone/iPad app. Music Culler is available for Mac, iPhone, and iPad on the App Store.
